National Elk Refuge's Animalympics Challenge

´╗┐Athleticism, speed, strength, power, endurance: humans celebrate these characteristics in Olympic Games. In the animal kingdom, they are necessary for survival. Animals perform not with the purpose of being named a medal winner, but in order to eat, escape predators, mate and endure the elements. Conserving our natural environments is one way humans can help wildlife with their ongoing quest for survival.

Many animals have amazing athletic abilities that help them adapt and survive in their environment. Their abilities are often far superior than those of humans. Do you have what it takes to survive in the wild? Challenge some of the wildlife found on the National Elk Refuge to see how you measure up.

THINGS YOU'LL NEED: long measuring tape, a stop watch, and a "mouse". Go to the List of Challenges and get started. Record your scores on the page, and they'll be on the "Record Your Scores" page when you are done, and ready to share your scores.
